Applica ("Applica," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at getapplica.com and the application platform at app.getapplica.com. We provide job search tools including resume analysis, application tracking, interview preparation, and our App Booster service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
Information you provide directly:
- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register for an account.
- Resume data: Resume content (work history, education, skills, contact details) that you upload or enter for analysis.
- Job preferences: Target roles, industries, locations, and other search preferences you configure in the platform.
- Email access: If you enable Automatic Inbox Monitoring, we access relevant emails in your connected inbox to detect application status updates and rejections. We read only the emails necessary to perform this function and do not store email content beyond what is needed to update your application records.
- Payment information: When you purchase the Essential Plan or App Booster, billing details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: Messages you send us via email, chat, or support forms.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, clicks, session duration, and similar interaction data.
- Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies to maintain your session, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. See Section 7 for details.
- Chrome Extension data: If you install the Applica Chrome Extension, it accesses the content of job posting pages you choose to analyze. This data is sent to our servers only to perform the analysis you request and is not stored beyond that purpose.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and deliver the services you've signed up for
- Analyze your resume against job postings and generate scores, feedback, and improvement recommendations
- Build and maintain your application history and job pipeline
- Generate personalized interview prep guides when you advance to the interview stage
- Monitor your inbox (when enabled) and automatically update application statuses
- Coordinate App Booster services - sharing the necessary information with our recruiter team to apply to jobs on your behalf
- Process payments and send receipts and billing notifications
- Send product updates, tips, and service-related communications (you can opt out of non-essential emails at any time)
- Improve our platform, analyze usage trends, and develop new features
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:
- App Booster team: If you purchase App Booster, we share your resume, job preferences, and relevant profile information with our recruiter team solely for the purpose of submitting job applications on your behalf.
- Service providers: We work with third-party vendors (hosting, payment processing, analytics, email delivery) who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements. These providers are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Applica, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: If Applica is acquired, merged, or its assets are sold, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change through the platform or by email.
- With your consent: We may share your information in other circumstances with your explicit consent.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, compliance, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Resume analyses, application history, and inbox monitoring data are retained as part of your account and are deleted when your account is closed. You can also manually delete individual records from within the platform at any time.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in any email, or by updating your notification preferences in your account settings.
- Withdraw consent: Where we rely on your consent to process data, you can withdraw that consent at any time (e.g., by disconnecting inbox monitoring access from your account settings).

7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the platform and understand how users interact with it. The types of cookies we use include:
